U6 Referees

Program Details 

  • Comprehensive training sessions covering rules, positioning, and decision-making 
  • Hands-on experience with live games 
  • Certification upon completion Training is scheduled for August 23, 2024 at 5:30 
  • Friday evening games from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Del Dayo, September 6 – November 1, 2024 

U8 Referees – New Coach Referee Guidelines 

To address several longstanding and league-wide issues, RCYSL will be switching to a coach management system for our U8 program in lieu of using certified referees. The primary goals of this change are to alleviate the referee shortage and to reduce the high volume of referee abuse incidents that have occurred in our U8 age group. Ultimately, the primary goals of youth soccer are player safety, player enjoyment, and player development. RCYSL believes these goals can all be achieved just as effectively using coaches to monitor and manage our U8 games as they were with certified referees.
