COACHING COORDINATOR:
Del Dayo soccer Coaching Coordinator position is currently vacant. If you have questions, please feel free to contact the club at deldayosc@gmail.com
DEL DAYO COACH CODE OF CONDUCT:
- The primary objective of the Del Dayo coach is to make the soccer experience safe, educational, and fun for the children. At the end of their Del Dayo soccer careers, we want the kids to be better players and, more importantly, better people.
- In both victory and defeat, the Del Dayo coach acts with grace, dignity, and composure. He/she teaches the players to do the same. A Del Dayo coach should never enter the field of play, question a referee, or belittle the players. Each coach and player is encouraged to thank the opposing team and the referee after each game.
- Soccer is the players’ game. The philosophy of the Del Dayo coach is to teach at practice and to step back and let the players play during the games. The Del Dayo soccer coach does not micromanage his/her players during the game.
- The Del Dayo coach teaches the players fair play and good sportsmanship. If a player is being disrespectful, the Del Dayo coach will remove him/her from the game.
- A Del Dayo coach is responsible for the conduct of his/her sideline. Each coach is encouraged to talk to the parents and explain that cheering good play by both teams is encouraged. But yelling and/or giving direction to the players or the referees is unacceptable.
DOES DEL DAYO SOCCER PROVIDE TRAINING FOR THE COACHES?:
Yes! River City Youth Soccer League, in partnership with Union FC, is organizing free coaching clinics that are open to all league coaches.
Coaches may choose to attend one or both of the field sessions shown below and are also highly encouraged to join the “classroom” session, via Zoom, as it will help reinforce the field sessions and offers a great opportunity to ask follow-up questions.
The clinics will be run by Brandon Cavitt, Director of Coaching for Union FC. Following his graduation from California State University, Sacramento, where his achievements on the soccer field were twice recognized with All Conference honors, Brandon was selected in the MLS draft and played professionally for several clubs in the US and Europe. He holds a USSF – C License as well as numerous additional technical and positive coaching credentials.
